Hey I was going through a lot of things in life today and I found solace in an instrumental i made dedicated to Aaliyah. She was a real angel. All i ask is that you take a sec to give it a listen and tell me what you the/ do I have a future in music production? and who knows maybe a re-blog of the song. Thank you for making this page it means wonders to so many people p.s. The playlist is on point!!
I will take a listen. And thank you very much :) I am glad you like the page
Do you have an update on the aaliyah movie? I know zendaya dropped out of it but I haven't really heard much about it since then. I think if it's done right with her family involved i don't see what bad could happen, I think if there not gonna pick lolita price to play her than just leave it alone no one can be baby girl cause she was baby girl but still the resemblance is uncanny
The latest news is that Wendy Williams is the executive producer of the movie and Alexandra Shipp will portray Aaliyah. I agree about Lolita Price. However, I just feel like the family is being disrespected. Wendy said the family should “stop complaining” like who are you? What makes you think her mother and brother want to relive her death and everything? They don’t owe anything to the public. Furthermore, I feel that this has become too much of a circus. Aaliyah did not live her life that way.
And that’s the last time that I will address anyone trying to downplay Aaliyah’s accomplishments. In the words of my fave I know you can come better than that. Don’t come with all of that loose rap, you can save that ;)
ppl kill me acting like she was the female Michael Jackson before she passed! Aaliyah had a "decent" career yes! But during her time there were 2 other females that were on top of the world which are Brandy then Monica her success was no where as great as theirs! Her career was nothing special for a movie and these are facts. Yes her passing was untimely but facts are facts.
No one is acting like Aaliyah was the female Michael Jackson. Facts are indeed facts what you are saying is an opinion. Brandy’s career was more mainstream than Aaliyah’s yes but let’s not sit here and act like Aaliyah was some one hit wonder. That’s what kills ME with people. Please Aaliyah was filming the matrix if she never recorded another album again that movie would have gotten her some serious recognition and even more roles. Okay so she didn’t over saturate the media with her presence. She took a couple of years off to finish high school and yet and still, had two double platinum albums under her belt. Aaliyah’s career went the way it was supposed to go. She made a name for herself and right before she passed was when she was really about to skyrocket. You say her career was “decent” which was obviously some low key shade, but I’m used to it. Aaliyah Brandy and Monica had their own lanes and they did their thing very well. As far as Aaliyah’s career she went at her own pace and what’s important was that she was happy. Her career was “nothing special”? That’s an opinion the facts say otherwise
“When it comes to dealing with negative people, I just let it in one ear and out the other. Those people were invisible to me. When anybody wants to talk about you or spread rumours, my advice is just don’t address it. Don’t dignify them with an answer.”—Aaliyah
“I really think it’s kinda funny how people like to make things up about you just because they can’t figure you out. Just because I like to wear sunglasses and my hair over one eye doesn’t mean that something is wrong with me.”—Aaliyah
“I was really impressed with her singing. She could go where the Whitney’s went. She wailed on that single I wrote for her. I write songs that challenge singers, and she rose to the occasion. She worked her ass on that vocal. She wouldn’t leave until she got it right.”—Songwriter Diane Warren on Aaliyah
I don’t like addressing negativity but seriously I am getting too many messages now asking “what was so great about Aaliyah?” “She wasn’t that big of a star until she died” you took the time out of your day to come on a fan page of someone you’re low key trying to throw shade at and I’m not here for it. Don’t try to say Aaliyah was pretty but.. And then proceed to insult and discredit her accomplishments. Too many people have been doing that. You don’t have to like Aaliyah but what’s a couple of haters to her millions of fans? Bye
Okaii, so......I'm not tryna put a Damper on my Dead Homie Aaliyah life. Nor am I trying to start some controversy, but can someone tell me why do we need a movie about her life? there was no scandals. Although the quality of the Crazy, Sexy, Cool was a little low budget, it was filled with scandal, heart break, and law suits. What was so interesting about Aaliyah besides h
I mean, if this movie is ever released you don’t have to watch it…. Aaliyah was very interesting and I’m sure the movie would go more in depth about her home life and how she was starting to build her career. I never know how to answer questions like this because everything isn’t for everybody and Aaliyah definitely was not for everybody, especially those who ask what’s so interesting about her.
Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager, Barry Hankerson, tells us the family is pissed that no one from the network contacted them about the movie.
Hankerson says the family will block any attempt on Lifetime’s part to use any of Aaliyah’s music. He says the family has hired a lawyer and will do everything they can to block release of the flick.
The family is not opposed to a big, theatrical film, but thinks a TV movie is too small for someone as big as Aaliyah.
We called Lifetime … so far no response.
And the plot thickens…
So you mean to tell me that her uncle who owns her estate did not know that this movie was in the process of casting and everything? But a producer who is working on the script, said the movie would be based on Barry Hankerson’s (Aaliyah’s uncle) point of view. Someone is lying.
